A tweeter tweeted me on twitter a few months ago (after reading a post I’d published on this very blog) which read, “I didn’t know that you’re a writer!”

Subsequently a strange, spirited dance overtook the room, accompanied by intermittent squeals.

I’d been officially called a writer and it felt good.

Scrap good.

It felt phenomenal.

Because somewhere in me, since around the age six I’ve loved words. It seems to me that one of the most gratifying things in my life is inducing reactions in another person, with something I have written. Be it laughter, happiness, contemplation or even sadness.

I’m glad that you stopped by to read my blog. I am delighted to read your comments. If you’ve enjoyed or been moved by what you’ve read and you’d like to read more, then feel free to subscribe or join my Facebook page for updates. Or both!

Just a little personal information:

  • I’m Sarah and I’m gulp, 40 years old
  • I live in Germany due to marrying a delightful German, Reini
  • Though born in England, I spent most of my life in Scotland
  • I have four children
  • Three girls: Joni 17, Lori 14, and Akasha 5
  • One boy, Aden 12, who has ADHD
  • I love my family, my friends, chocolate, holidays, cuddles, art, chatting, sushi, music, reading, cooking, exploring new places, photos, laughter and of course writing!

Hi Sarah. You commented on my blog so I thought I’d check yours out! I like it and will be back to read more of your posts.
Whereabouts in Germany do you live? I went to school there (my stepfather was a soldier in the English Army). We lived near Paderborn in North West Phalia – do you know it?

    • sarsm says:

      Welcome and great news!!

We live in the South, between Munich and Stuttgart. I haven’t been too far north yet, much to my shame after living here for six years. But I have a friend in Düsseldorf who I’ve been wanting to visit. Perhaps I’ll pop it on my 101 tasks…

  6. kiwidutch says:

Ah, you like Photos, Cooking, Art…new places, chocolate , photos, laughter, hang on you are a kindred spirit!
We do get over the border here in the North a few times a year, but only to the south of Germany when I travel to Munich for work (not often sadly, last trip was 6 years ago).
You have a fabulous blog.. I’m going to enjoy going back though some of your older posts!

  7. Funny Girl! I enjoyed looking around, here. Keep up the good work. And u R cute! (And I am a granny, so I can say that!)

    Aloha Sarah!

I saw your blog link at Earlybird’s blog and thought I’d pay you a visit. I lived in Munich on Pariserstrasse from mid-December 1969 to early February 1970. Hated the cold winter, so flew to New York City to study music (violin) for 5-1/2 years. After 7 years abroad (I also lived in Thailand for a year), I returned to Hawaii, where I was born and raised.

Anyway, I love your entertaining blog! I’ll pop in again!

    • sarsm says:

      Aloha Gigi!!

We live about 150km from Munich!! The winters are hard and long so I completely understand you leaving again. Thailand – wow – did you like it there?

I’m glad you like my blog, I look forward to reading your comments. :-)
